North greenwhich market
renovating community lifestyle
The concept of a market was born since fresh food access and a caring community was missing in the peninsula. It consists mainly of fast food and restaurants, but no fresh products for locals. Moreover, this issue has been linked to economic and health issues. In the first place, 22% of the peninsula’s population are students as it is often difficult to be financially stable and not being employed most of the time. It is often tricky having to buy your food outside every day, especially as one may not have the time. Resulting in eating junk food. Even regarding workers who might be employed and can afford to eat out. The fact of eating junk food is not a healthy option. Tesco is the only supermarket where one cannot even buy fresh products basics such as meat cuts. For this reason, I had to incorporate a market that will feed the locals with healthier options. But making them feel part of a welcoming, amicable community.
